St. Croix Festival Theatre is a 501c3 non-profit professional theatre company now in its 27th year. The company lives in downtown St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, a town of about 2,200 residents and stunning natural beauty located 50 miles northeast of Minneapolis/St. Paul. Festival Theatre currently makes its home in a 70-seat storefront theatre while simultaneously working with municipal and regional support to renovate its original home, the City's historic Civic Auditorium. Renovation of this 240-seat proscenium space and Festival Theatre’s return as the resident professional theatre and facility manager is expected in the coming years, potentially by the end of 2018.

Full Time

Salary: $30,000 to 38,000, commensurate with experience.

St. Croix Festival Theatre is seeking a qualified and passionate Executive and Artistic Director to take primary responsibility for the development and execution of the Festival Theatre mission. This individual will have overall responsibility for the selection and interpretation of the theatrical works produced and presented, and will be the chief executive responsible for providing strategic direction for the long term success of Festival Theatre.

The Executive and Artistic Director will report to a highly engaged and enthusiastic Board of Directors participating in ongoing fiscal oversight. He or she will balance artistic vision and fiscal responsibility to guide the company towards long-term success and daily fulfillment of the Festival Theatre mission.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a successful track record as a director, designer, and/or performer of live theatre as well as experience as an arts administrator. Desire to engage with the communities of the St. Croix River Valley and develop artistic programming that serves the local, regional and tourist audiences is a must. Demonstrated success as an artistic leader and strong collaboration skills are highly desirable.
